Description
Dr. Jeremy Young expects a calm Sunday sail. Instead, his closest friend, Dr. Hasan Shah, a prominent vascular surgeon, steps aboard and detonates four words that change everything: “Mia wants a divorce.” What follows is a descent so sudden and violent that Jeremy barely recognizes the man beside him. Hasan’s eyes are wild, his movements erratic, his mind somewhere dark and unreachable. Out on Lake Ontario, the wind rises and so does Hasan’s instability. He drives Jeremy’s new spinnaker to its limits, ignoring every warning, pushing the boat into a deadly sprint. A brutal gust slams the vessel sideways, shredding the massive sail from top to bottom while Hasan hangs from the shrouds, frozen, hollow, and terrifyingly detached from reality.
Jeremy has seen surgeons crack under pressure, but never like this. As old memories of rage, volatility, and buried secrets surge back, he realizes the truth: Hasan isn’t just unraveling. He’s becoming dangerous. Jeremy’s longtime friend, Hasan, and former roommate is accused of murdering his wife, a family doctor. The unfolding story puts to the test his belief that a surgeon dedicated to saving lives would not commit murder.
